Slipmat Brothers - Reminiscing On The 90's Vol. 1 (320 kbs)
Jazz-hop is one of the finest subgenres of hip hop music. If you are familiar modern jazz-hop, you might recognize the UK group The Slipmat Brothers (a/k/a Jazz Spastiks). Indie hip hop producers and DJ's have dropped several wonderful projects, e.g. "The Product", "Mode 7", "Unkut Fresh", "Portals" and "Made For The Underground". Also The Slipmat Brothers have skills and knowledge of creating mixes. "Reminiscing the 90's" is proof of that. The British duo have provided a longer mix, which is split into three parts. The project is based on the 90's rap - you can find a lot of better or lesser known hip hop acts on this tape. Golden age hip hop serving by Coconut Delight and Mr. Manyana.

Mick Boogie - Excursions: Rarities & Remixes of A Tribe Called Quest (320kbs)
Mick Boogie:- "A Tribe Called Quest is one of my favorite groups of all time... in any genre of music. After seeing Michael Rapaport's amazing documentary on the group, I felt inspired to put together a mix and this is the end result. This is NOT a greatest hits mix. This mix is for the true Tribe fans only... the die-hards who know every lyric and remember every interlude. I thought it would be cool to basically create the "lost" Tribe album... with all the rare songs, demos, limited-edition remixes, and collaborations you may have missed over the years. I hope when you enjoy this as much as I do, and hear some things you have never heard before. Special thank you to UNDRCRWN for the amazing artwork. Long live A Tribe Called Quest!

Stretch & Bobbito - 89.9 WKCR July 27 1995 (320kbs)
Massive props as always to DJ Eclipse!!!!
Here goes more than a full show of Stretch & Bob as they went about 20 minutes overtime. Seems like bad weather made the "Jazz Man" late. But that just makes for a better SNB show. DJ E-Kim sets off the first mic break (8:55) followed by Souls of Mischief (40:05) who do what they do best at 43:56. Redman displays his DJ skills (74:14) before him and Diezzle Don get on for an interview (79:22). And of course that's followed up by a freestyle session from the two (91:58) once the right beat is chosen. As if the show couldn't get any better you have Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift and Dante Pacino from Natural Elements up on the show (137:21) with another freestyle session (142:04). Some mic banter with Reef and friends (186:39), freestyle from Jersey's Tone The Butcher (192:53), live phone calls (199:27) and then last mic break of the night to sign off at 261:43

Merry Christmas everyone! Here goes another Halftime show from '98 with guests Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" (85:53). Short interview right into the freestyle session (if only cats today were as hungry as the 90s generation). As usual, Riz sets off the show lovely and then half way through I get on to finish up. Always good listening to the mic breaks to see what was going on during that time (i.e. Tramps shows, Fat Beats in-stores, new mixer...thanks Fat Beats!) (52:25). So much good music played. The Awesome Two (Special K & Teddy Tedd) - 105.9 WNWK March 19, 1994 (320kbs)
These brothers (well cousins actually) are part of the original few DJs that played Hip Hop on the air. They started on WHBI in May 1982 and continued there all the way until 2004 (note: during this time WHBI became WNWK). During the era of this particular upload (3/19/94) they rocked on Saturday nights from midnight until 1am and then the show repeated from 4am-5am. They combined all the elements of Hip Hop radio by playing breaks, R&B blends, old school joints, the latest music as well as having special guests. Unfortunately on this show here their guest Strictly Roots ("Beg No Friends") never made it up in time. Not only did A2 not get paid to have their own show, but they had to pay for their time slot. Now that's true dedication. Salute to K & Tedd and thank you for helping Hip Hop reach the masses and giving many of us an outlet to do what we love. Many more years fellas.

Funkmaster Flex - Friday Night Street Jam Hot 97 WQHT March 4, 1994 (320 kbs)
This show is chock full of specialized radio promos about Flex. Emskee has a dope one at 1:24 right after the intro promo. Caught a couple more throughout the show like the Biz Mark one at 50:04. And then there's all the drops from artists of that era layered throughout the mix which gives it that much more flavor. And of course we can't forget the music. From breakbeats (4:12) to reggae (75:41) to old school (103:05) to new Hip Hop, the show is such a great window into what was happening in NYC clubs in the 90s. Not to mention the party breaks Flex was playing that were real popular back then. Throw in a couple blends, shout outs to Big Kap (R.I.P.) who was spinning at the Palladium until Flex got there and mic breaks at 22:57, 48:09, 74:13, 101:37, 128:33 and 153:25, and you have 3 hours of great listening pleasure.
