DJ Riz & DJ Eclipse - The Halftime Show 89.1 WNYU September 23, 1998 (w/Eminem & Royce Da 5'9") (320kbs)
Merry Christmas everyone! Here goes another Halftime show from '98 with guests Eminem and Royce Da 5'9" (85:53). Short interview right into the freestyle session (if only cats today were as hungry as the 90s generation). As usual, Riz sets off the show lovely and then half way through I get on to finish up. Always good listening to the mic breaks to see what was going on during that time (i.e. Tramps shows, Fat Beats in-stores, new mixer...thanks Fat Beats!) (52:25). So much good music played. Last mic break at 147:39. Enjoy.

The Awesome Two (Special K & Teddy Tedd) - 105.9 WNWK March 19, 1994 (320kbs)
These brothers (well cousins actually) are part of the original few DJs that played Hip Hop on the air. They started on WHBI in May 1982 and continued there all the way until 2004 (note: during this time WHBI became WNWK). During the era of this particular upload (3/19/94) they rocked on Saturday nights from midnight until 1am and then the show repeated from 4am-5am. They combined all the elements of Hip Hop radio by playing breaks, R&B blends, old school joints, the latest music as well as having special guests. Unfortunately on this show here their guest Strictly Roots ("Beg No Friends") never made it up in time. Not only did A2 not get paid to have their own show, but they had to pay for their time slot. Now that's true dedication. Salute to K & Tedd and thank you for helping Hip Hop reach the masses and giving many of us an outlet to do what we love. Many more years fellas.

Funkmaster Flex - Friday Night Street Jam Hot 97 WQHT March 4, 1994 (320 kbs)
This show is chock full of specialized radio promos about Flex. Emskee has a dope one at 1:24 right after the intro promo. Caught a couple more throughout the show like the Biz Mark one at 50:04. And then there's all the drops from artists of that era layered throughout the mix which gives it that much more flavor. And of course we can't forget the music. From breakbeats (4:12) to reggae (75:41) to old school (103:05) to new Hip Hop, the show is such a great window into what was happening in NYC clubs in the 90s. Not to mention the party breaks Flex was playing that were real popular back then. Throw in a couple blends, shout outs to Big Kap (R.I.P.) who was spinning at the Palladium until Flex got there and mic breaks at 22:57, 48:09, 74:13, 101:37, 128:33 and 153:25, and you have 3 hours of great listening pleasure.

Future Flavas w/Marley Marl & Pete Rock Hot 97 WQHT May 24, 1998 (320kbs)
Another sure shot from the crates of DJ Eclipse, damn!!!!
A LOT of dope joints on this one. Especially the Future Flava promos. Sporty Thieves promo at the beginning of the show, Busta Rhymes (35:42), Killa Kidz (39:05) and another one that I'm not sure who it's from at 41:51. Mic breaks at 8:27, 30:08 and 54:29.
At the end of the show they mention that DJ Premier was about to get on the wheels
(on Boogie & The Barber). How dope was it that a commercial radio station had
Pete Rock and DJ Premier on air back to back? They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Mayhem, Sunset & DJ Riz - NY Live 89.1 WNYU June 26, 1996 (320 kbs)
Here's an hour and a half of a 2 1/2 hour show. Sounds like I edited (or pause taped) some of this when recording. First mic break at 24:20 with Mayhem and Sunset before they bring on Lauryn Hill (26:29) who was there to promote the Hoodshock concert which took place in Harlem the next day (http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/n...). During L Boogie's interview you hear her say what's up to Bahamadia who had just walked in. Bahamadia makes her appearance at 57:49 and gets into a freestyle at 62:00. Last mic break at 71:39 before Mayhem loads up some exclusives. A little radio interference as usual to make the tape sound official. Shout out to Riz, Sunset and Mr. "Making It Happen" Mayhem.

Kevin Keith & The Dirty Dozen 105.9 WNWK March 19, 1994 (320kbs)
DJ Eclipse shared this on his mixcloud sometime ago, this is another one of those shows I managed to extract the HQ mp3....enjoy
DJ Eclipse - "There's no way I'm going to remember all of the Dirty Dozen, but shout out to Mecca and Bishop Lord who were part of the crew and held it down when Kevin Keith was not there. KK&TDD came on from 1am-2am right after The Awesome Two and this particular show was from the same night as my last A2 upload. Kev's show was based more on guests and the newest music they could find which meant not really mixing records, but playing joints straight off cassettes. Their guests on this episode were Da King & I (Izzy Ice & DJ Majesty) who also brought up Duo Die (Free & Sid) who now go by Duo Live (veterans of selling cds in front of Fat Beats). Funny enough, Izzy also shouts out Strictly Roots who were in the place obviously late from missing their spot on The Awesome Two's show. Lots of dope joints from the live Hiero performance (6:12) to the commercials promoting "Mad Wednesdays" (22:17) and a Dooable Arts event (25:09) to Da King & I interview (26:34) and freestyle with Iz & Free (52:18)."

Mr. Magic & Mister Cee - Best Of Both Worlds WNYE June 16 1994 (320kbs)
DJ Eclipse - "We all know Mr. Magic opened the doors to Hip Hop radio in the 80's, but not many know that he returned to radio in the 90's alongside fellow Juice Crew member DJ Mister Cee. The pair hit the airwaves every Thursday night from 9pm-11pm on 91.5 WNYE. The show was called the "Best Of Both Worlds" and featured Magic on the mic and Cee on the tables playing Hip Hop and a little R&B. Cee would play the newest 12"s, exclusives and dope blends better known as a "Mister Cee Special Mix" while Magic co-interviewed guests, ran down shoutouts from callers (peep the mention of "Joe wants to say what's up to Fat Beats" a month before the store opened 20:08) and told you what the weather was going to be like that weekend. On this show they had a 20 year old Mic Geronimo (64:30) alongside his Cash Money Click and manager Magoo (aka Irv Gotti). Mic G then hits the mic for a freestyle at 94:25. It's crazy listening back to these shows and hearing the beginnings of people's careers."
